Fall is my favorite season of the year, and I feel like for others it is also their favorite season. Don’t get me wrong I love summer and the nice weather and being away from school and just overall having more time for myself, but fall fashion is where it is at for me.
You may be wondering, what are going to be the big trends that take over this fall? Well lucky for you guys I have done my research.
1) Wide Leg Pants
We all know that the late 2000’s style has been slowly making a comeback for the better. Wide leg pant jeans are a seriously hot trend right now. They can come in so many different washes of denim and different rips and textures. In the image below I got my new statement jeans from The Screamin Peach. These jeans are going to be in trend for a while now, American Eagle and Abercrombie have an amazing selection. Everyone needs these in their closet, it is such a classic peace.
2) Prints and Patterns
I don’t know about you guys, but I live for adding prints into my wardrobe, it can bring a basic outfit to life and make a statement. Lucky for you and I print, and patterns are going to be in this fall. Looking at Vogue and what they had to say, florals and plaids are huge. I am definitely getting clueless vibes from the word plaid. There are many ways to style with these patterns. Here I chose to show how I style my favorite plaid pants from Target. I big sweater and doc martins is always a classic statement for fall.
3) Colors
You might be thinking to yourself, there is no way that colors are in for fall, meaning yellows, pinks, reds, greens, blues, etc. You and me both are confused by this statement. I guess there are no rules to which color belong to which season (anyone else’s mind goes straight to spring fashion?) So, I am just going to roll with it. Adding a bright pop of color to a neutral outfit can brighten the overall look up, but still fit in with the season.
4) Cropped/ Cut out
We all know and love the “cropped” trend, it has been around for years and in my opinion keeps getting better and better. It is versatile for each season and overall is extremely flattering on anybody frame. Cropped jackets and cropped sweaters are very popular this fall. In my opinion I feel like this is going to be a classic piece, so I would stockpile your wardrobe with as many basic cropped sweaters and jackets as you can. A new trend we have been seeing lately are cut outs, this is a way to add dimension to a classic piece.
5) Slip Dresses/ Skirts
This trend is perfect for transitioning into fall. In some cases, I feel like people tend to forget about the transitional phase and sprint straight towards the fall fashion. Well living in Colorado, I can tell you the weather id bipolar and never wants to make up its mind, so we need some transitional pieces. Slip dresses and skirts are very comfortable and light, but they can also be layered with sweaters, jackets, and cardigans to give it that good old fall cozy feel, but when you are sweating your a** off walking down the street wishing it was fall you can take a layer off! What a miracle!
