How I style Doc Marten's

Everyone needs a go-to boot for the fall and winter. Mine this year is Doc Martens. I know that Doc Martens are not a new trend and have been back in style for quite some time. When the trend first came back since being popular in the 90’s, I was not quick to jump on it right away.

Personally, I did not like the boots at all, probably because I did not know how I would style them or if I could pull them off. A little secret I learned is anyone can pull anything off as long as they have confidence.

After learning that wonderful secret I got myself a pair… and then they sat in my closet for about a year thanks to covid (I spent the majority of the time wearing sweatpants, and no shoes because I did not leave my house).

Now that brings us to this fall, I know the weather is still pretty warm in Colorado, but I have been wearing my Doc Martens any chance I get.

I wanted to share a couple of my favorite ways to style my Doc's, and hopefully you guys will find new ideas on how to style yours, or give you the final push to buy the ones that have been sitting in your cart for months.

Outfit Inspo One

Doc Martens are looked at to be more of a grudge style, and many people would not to think to pair with a dress right? Well this is actually one of my favorite ways to style my docs. I love adding a pair of cute socks that go with whatever dress I am wearing just to add a little something to the overall look. I have tried wearing my docs without noticable socks with dresses, and I feel like the overall outfit is missing something.

To make this look fit for the fall season, I would add a pair of shear tights and a jean jacket or cardigan.

Dress: American Eagle (too old to find)

Outfit Inspo Two

For the second outfit, I went with a more casual "grundge" look. I love to pair my docs with any type of jeans, but there is just something about the overall look when I pair them with ripped jeans. To really finish off the "grundge" look I like to pair a graphic tee. To make this fit for fall or colder weather I would pair this outfit with an oversized flannel.

Outfit Inspo Three

For the last outfit, I wanted to share the most common way I will be styling my docs, specifically for the fall and winter. Here I have this absolutly stunning oversized button up flannel/ shirt, paired with black leggings, cute socks, and my go-to hat for the fall. This outfit is defininetly a staple for the colder seasons. You can mix and match so many differnt ways, instead of leggings you can do jeans and an oversized flannel or sweater. This is one of my all time favorite looks.
