Funky Fall Outfits

Sometimes with fashion I get bored with the outfits I typically wear. I like to mix and match certain patterns that might be "weird" to some people, but I think work very nicely together.

There are times where I will see an outfit online or even in person that someone else is wearing and think to myself, "that outfit is really weird, but for some reason I like it". There is most likely two reasons for this to occur.

The first reason is, the person wearing the so-called weird outfit has confiudence. Confidence is key to fashion. The other reason is, the outfit is not a basic one, it is something different and it makes me think creatively. It also gives me inspiration to recreate the look, but with my sense of style, basically adding my own twist.

I decided to look through my closet and think to myself, what kind of different patternes or clothing items can I layer/put together that will inspire others to try something new?

Well I only put together four outfits. My goal behind this was to make you guys think outside of the box.

Outfit one

Looking at this picture, you might not think the outfit is extremely out of the ordinary. It does look like a typical fall outfit. My goal was to combine the snake print booties with the plaid pattern. Most people might have thought to pair this with brown or black boots. I could have done that, but I wanted to mix and match patterns. Looking at this outfit, think to yourself what you have in your closet that you can get creative with. There are so many different combinations that this outfit has potential for. The goal is to show that mixing and matching different patterns can look good.

Outfit Two

The next outfit is focusing on layering. One of the many joys that the colder seasons bring is the gift of layering. Here I wanted to show something a little bit different. I could have layered this outfit with a flannel or denim jacket. Instead, I wanted to try something different. I decided to layer with a kimono type top. The colors overall look very nice together, and I like the fact that you can see the sleeves of the sweater, and how the sweater is also a turtle neck (hard to see in picture). The inspiration from this outfit is to think of all of the options to layer with. It does not have to just stop at jackets, flannels, and cardigans.

Outfit Three

The third outfit is focusing on vintage sweaters. I thrifted this sweater from the goodwill a couple years back. Still to this day I am obsessed with this piece, it really was one of those golden finds. Usually, a typical way to style a sweater like this would be with leggings and sneaker or a cozy look. I love a cozy chill look, and I absolutely style this sweater like that, but it does not only get to be styled like that. I wanted to dress this sweater up, I guess you could say. I decided to pair it with some funky bell bottoms and snake print booties. Another awesome thing to add would be some gold layered necklaces. Think of all the ways you would style vintage sweaters. This could even be styled with a skirt or patterns bottoms (plaid pants ).

Outfit Four

For the last outfit (similar to the first), I wanted to show that a pop of color for shoes can make an outfit go from basic to different. In the photo the shoes are a dark red and are a shiny leather, it is a little hard to see the color. There is not red throughout the rest of the outfit, but the color contrasts well with the color of the hat and jacket. I love adding funky shoes to an outfit as you guys know, it is the easiest way to add pattern or color.
